 Neken
Marine was formed in 2006
by Neal & Cathy Aitken.
Neal has had a long history
on and around the waterfront while growing up
on Sydney waterways. Neal took an active
interest in sailing in his early teens and
sailed in a number of classes of dingy and
yacht racing. In 1987 Neal started to work
in the marine services area on the
foreshores of Pittwater. After some years
of developing his knowledge Neal moved into
the Water Sport Leisure Industry in 1990,
servicing customer requirements and also was
involved in the development of importing of
a number of the water sport products into
Australian which in turn distributed and
sold nationally. While working in this
industry Neal also took on further studies
in Naval Architecture following his passion
for boats, which allowed him to gain some
first hand experience in this interesting
field.
With the approaching Y2K bug
Neal decided to follow his other interest in
the Corporate Information Technology
industry in 1998. Neal has been working in
the high end corporate space on the IT
industry servicing fortune 500 company’s
with their IT directives, supply of backend
computer infrastructure equipment and
business continuity / high availability
solutions, developing into his eventual role
of Sales Manager for a major IT
organization. During this whole time Neal
kept an active interest in his own boats and
continued developing ties within the marine
industry.
So in 2006 with the forming of a young
family, Neal & Cathy decided to open Neken
Marine and to re-align their efforts to
reflect their own personal interests and
passion for boating. So with Neal’s
experience in the corporate world combined
with the marine/leisure industry
experience, Neken Marine understands and can
deliver the professionalism and service from
the corporate industry, while understanding
and appreciating the value of your leisure
investment in your boat and valuable time. |
